The Playmaids series combines the terms "Playmates" and "mermaids" into a summery series of images. The women in the pool, surrounded by pool noodles and an inflatable crocodile, radiate joie de vivre, connection, and a willingness to have fun. Playmaids is an homage to the moments when we can be silly, happy, and ourselves without judgment—and also to the woman who has brought so many of these moments into my life.

The works primarily depict people from the artist's personal circle, but also scenes of unknown people from everyday life – unposed and vibrant.
